Monsters, Inc. Arrives in Lorcana With Combo Shift Mechanics

Rebekah Quests spotlights two Core Constructed decks built around Sulley, Boo, and the new synergy tools in Attack of the Vine!

Mike Wazowski, Sulley, and other Monsters, Inc. glimmers have entered Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game through Attack of the Vine!, bringing a fresh mechanic called Combo Shift.

Combo Shift Enables Flexible Board Development

Sully & Boo – Scare Buddies anchors one new build with Combo Shift, which permits shifting onto a Sulley character, a Boo character, or one of each as early as turn four. When this combined glimmer is banished, its ability recurs every character underneath it from discard to play at no cost.

Protective Synergy Sustains Questing Pressure

Boo – In Disguise gains protection through the You’re Safe Now ability, which prevents challenges while any exerted Sulley remains in play. Meanwhile, Boo – Human Child scales to quest for three lore with five or more cards in the inkwell. The deck also runs Celia Mae – Friendly Receptionist, who readies a character when played for one extra ink, and Pacha – Panicked Customer, whose Adrenaline Surge pushes him to 6 Strength and 6 Willpower during your turn.

Format Boundaries and Shared Drawbacks

Both featured decks use Core Constructed format, restricting the card pool to sets from Fabled through Attack of the Vine!. One included action forces its controller to let an opponent draw two cards.

Context

Why it matters

These decklists demonstrate how Combo Shift and character-name synergy create recursive, protected board states in the rotated Core Constructed environment.
