Mystery Booster Commander Edition Drafts with Partner Rule
Over 2,000 reprints and new cards arrive for Commander, Legacy, and Vintage with special draft rules at MagicCon: Atlanta.
MagicCon: Atlanta on November 13–15 will host the debut of Mystery Booster Commander Edition, a draftable release pairing a sprawling historical card pool with reprinted playtest cards.
Card Pool and Format Legality
More than 2,000 cards from across Magic's history fill these boosters, ranging from Arena to Zellix, Sanity Flayer. Reprints and fresh designs appear in every color, yielding broad commander options. Format legality covers Commander, Legacy, and Vintage for the product as a whole; individual cards remain legal only where they were previously permitted. Alternate treatments can be viewed in the Mystery Booster Commander Edition Card Image Gallery.
Playtest Cards and Draft Rules
Playtest cards—not Constructed-legal—reappear here using the same lineup found in Mystery Booster 2, now cleared for Commander Draft tables. A special event rule also applies: commanders showing one or fewer colors in their identity may be treated as though they possess partner during Mystery Booster Commander Edition Draft. Complete regulations are documented in the Mystery Booster Commander Edition Release Notes.
