Pre-Revisionist Walkers and Early Novel Heroes
Several revived legends do not align with current Planeswalker mechanics because they originated before that card type existed or operated under old-walker rules. Greensleeves, who received new card treatment, starred in a 1994-1995 Clayton Emery trilogy beginning with Whispering Woods. She later wielded the Stone Brain to repel Phyrexian demons before returning home.
Villains From Shandalar and Onslaught Block
Arzakon, the demonic Planeswalker antagonist of the 1997 MicroProse game commonly called Shandalar, instigated war by manipulating five Guild Lords against the Guardian and attempting to cast the Spell of Dominion. The Onslaught block sets—Onslaught, Legions, and Scourge from 2002—also contributed legendary figures now receiving updated cards, having pushed narrative and mechanical boundaries at release.
