Digimon Card Game Bans Nyaromon, Restricts Four Cards in August 2026 Update
The Digi-Egg moves straight to banned status while four other cards face new one-copy limits effective immediately.
Bandai has updated the Digimon Card Game banned and restricted list, removing one card from restriction while adding five others across both categories. The changes take effect August 21, 2026.
Nyaromon Banned Outright
Nyaromon receives a full ban rather than a one-copy restriction. The game's stewards determined that limiting the Digi-Egg to a single copy would prove inadequate because players can hatch it at will from the Digi-Egg deck. Its [When Attacking] effect trashes one security card to generate one memory and enables further advantages from trashing your own security stack, a combination that continues to accelerate game pace as the card pool expands.
Four Cards Hit One-Copy Restriction
Four cards join the restricted list at one copy per deck. One option card's [Start of your Main Phase] effect enables effortless digivolution into large Digimon and places a chosen card from hand into security, advantages that have grown with the card pool. Another card's [All Turns] effect hatches Digi-Egs too efficiently in decks built to delete their own Digimon. A third option card combines with BT18-078 Duskmon and BT18-079 Velgrmon to exploit the trash too powerfully. The fourth restricts future design space for [Undead] and [Dark Animal] trait cards plus hand-trashing effects.
One Restriction Lifted
A previously restricted card exits the list. Its relative advantage has decreased amid shifts in the current metagame, making the one-copy limit no longer necessary.
